My Best Friend's Wedding

All images copyright Looking Glass

No, not the movie! My actual best friend's wedding! Ally & Jon had a woodland fairytale wedding last month for which I was bridesmaid. These are just a few photos my hubby snapped as we got ready at the beautiful Milton Park Country House and as the happy couple tied the knot under a canopy of weeping trees at Montrose Berry Farm. She reminded me of Glinda the Good Witch. Yes, I do realise that's a very solemn look coming from all of us bridesmaids above, but I do believe we were all trying quite hard not to cry at that particular point in time.

The wedding was magical, the Autumn weather was perfect, and soon I shall post the reception photos which was in a huge barn on the the property. We danced the night away under the stars on the outdoor dance floor.

Till then...

MBFWA 2012 ~ Michael Lo Sordo

Photography by Reef Gaha

How hot is this Michael Lo Sordo collection? I'm adoring the kaleidoscope prints and the flapper style dresses. These images from MBFWA were snapped by my good mate Reef Gaha for Everguide.

You can see Reef's pics from MBFWA of Bless'ed Are The Meek here.

MBFWA 2012 ~ Akira

Photography by Tempe Nakiska for Broadsheet

The beautiful gowns of Akira Isogawa at MBFWA. Akira never fails to disappoint with his East meets West, brightly coloured gowns, feathery headpieces, & whimsical neck adornments. Loving his bridal collection.

Akira is an unbelievably talented designer, with a very different approach to designing. He's very inspired by the movement of textiles and the way it drapes, so he often makes his patterns based on the way he drapes the fabric rather than on a flat surface, almost like he's choreographing fabric! You can hear more about this on this youtube video of Akira designing the costumes for The Australian Ballet's Romeo & Juliet in a past post of mine here.

MBFWA 2012 ~ Bless'ed Are The Meek

Photographer: Reef Gaha

Last week saw out MBFWA 2012 and my good mate and photographer extraordinaire, Reef Gaha, was there to snap some fantastical pics. Above are his photos of the S/S12-13 collection from Aussie label Bless'ed Are The Meek entitled ‘The Siren.’ Loving the minimal makeup, tousled braids, & their striking dresses in all lengths & hues of nudes, golds & vibrant purples with some sexy black thrown in for good measure. Lots of heavenly patterns & embellishments too.

For more of Reef's photos, see Broadsheet.
