Gettin Knitty With It

Still raining in Sydney... so these snuggly knit ensembles from Sportsgirl are on my "heart-it" list right now

so are all these One Teaspoon knits. Ok so the last pic, the cream Loveless Poncho, isn't a knit, but I love it just the same!

What are your plans for the weekend? Mine's jam-packed with dinners & drinks with friends visiting from Queensland, an impromtu wedding ceremony set-up, Linda's daughter, Violet's, 2nd birthday party, play rehearsals & an appearance as Alice in Wonderland at a kiddies Mad Hatters Tea Party / Easter Egg Hunt! Somehow I will fit it all in...

Autumn = Deshabillé

Deshabillé (pronounced dez-ha-bee-ay)
the state of being partly or casually dressed
from French déshabillé undressed
I'm in love with the Deshabillé Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.
I know many Looking Glass readers are frollicking in the Spring weather right now, but downunder we're cosying up for Autumn & in Sydney it's been a little on the chilly side with plenty of rain, making the latest luxe, comfy, lounge & sleepwear from Deshabillé so tempting right now, I could snap up every piece!

Inspired by postcards from around the world, this collection is made for dreamy travellers looking for their trusted companion to share a winter adventure with!

Are you like me? Does Autumn mean constantly wanting to snuggle up at home in a "state of being partly dressed"?
Autumn = Deshabillé for me.
Perhaps also indulging in a little poetry like Keats....

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells."
~ To Autumn by John Keats

Hope everyone's eaten their fair share of chocolate this weekend. I've eaten so many Cadbury Creme Eggs I'm about to burst!

Rocked My World!

Wanna know what rocked my world this week?
Ok, this week & a half...

Jimmy Eat World at The Enmore - definitely the best gig I've ever seen them play!.

Rodrigo y Gabriela at The Enmore - yes I seem to be living at The Enmore lately. These guys are amazing guitarists and this gig was such perfect timing as this week is our wedding anniversary & we happened to play Rod y Gab at our wedding. Awww! Learnt some awesome news from the talented duo at their gig last night, they have just done the score for the latest Pirates of the Carribean & will be scoring the Puss in Boots movie (yup, the character in Shrek gets his own movie)

Bell Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing at the Opera House - Go see it!! This was such a wonderful production of Much Ado. It left me feeling so inspired afterwards, I just adored every minute of it. Each actor truly held their own but Blazey Best as Beatrice was outstanding & Toby Schmitz was by far the cheekiest, most entertaining Benedick I've ever seen. He is truly an amazing, inspiring actor.

A gift from Rome - yesterday I received a special little gift in the post from the lovely Laura of Ricevere con Stile. For her recent birthday, her husband had little booklets made up for her all about her blog from its humble beginnings until now. I can't believe how sweet her hubby is! Laura so kindly sent me a copy & when I received it yesterday it made my day. Now to translate it all....

So what rocked your world this week?

Wilde Bride

Loving this Rock Chic inspired shoot at Big Bear. So much feather-love! I love the wild, bohemian flair the feather chandelier gives.

Mad Love Shoot ~ Behind the Scenes

"love is mad like me"

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited along to the lookbook shoot for the brand new label Mad Love. Shot in Bondi at the colourfully eclectic Beach Burrito Company (yum!) we were surrounded by bold brights, the smell of burritos on the burner, the beckoning beach, & of course one very beauteous babe. Check out some behind the scenes shots care of one of my favourite photographers Mr Christopher Perkins.

Designer Gill Lawrence (also the designer of my favourite Aussie Frenchie label Toi et Moi) & contributing artist Belinda Carielli have worked together for 6 years on a number of projects & now they bring us Mad Love - where Aztec Americas meet Pop Art.

An array of gorgeous jewellery pieces from Damselfly

Mad Love's first collection was designed while Belinda travelled through Mexico, Guatemala & El Salvador.

Gill spent months developing a unique jersey based cloth for the collection resulting in what they reckon is the best jersey ever! Complete with no itchy tags, all garments are screenprinted with the Mad Love logo & sizing for our comfort!

I think the swing tags are awesome, don't you? Little top hats - very mad hatter!
