An Impromptu Wedding...

This weekend I attended a last minute Wedding that was planned in one week! Yes, that's right, one week! Crazy, I know. I took a year to plan mine.

The day started out sunny & warm, true Spring weather, but by the afternoon just before the ceremony, along came a storm. I still thought the view was spectacular in the misty rain...

All photos by me

Sorry there's no pics of the bride & groom. They're keeping their photos private for now.
The bride wore a soft pink gown. So pretty!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Barn Style Romance

I came across this barn wedding reception on Style Me Pretty today & fell in love. Isn't this the most whimsical, wonderful, enchanted reception you've ever seen? This makes me wish I lived in the country and had me a big ol' barn!

Oh! Those iron gates, that chandelier, those soft curtains!

 Look what's inside!!

I've had a very exciting week. I took part in a very awesome shoot with one of my favourite fine artists (who I have blogged about before). Can't say anything just yet, but in about 2 weeks I'll be able to post the final image/artwork & hopefully some of the behind the scenes shots too!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

MAC's Venomous Villains

Just to get you into the Halloween spirit (as if you needed help!) MAC have teamed up with Disney to bring us a range of devilish essentials: Venomous Villains

These are 3 of the Villains that served as muses for this range...

Evil Queen ~ Snow White (1937)

Maleficent ~ Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Cruella De Vil ~ 101 Dalmatians (1961)

Clockwise from top left: Venomous Villains Lipglass, Venomous Villains Lipstick, Venomous Villains Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo.

All pictures from MAC

I guess it's time to bring out that inner Villain in us all... or at least pretend to with a venomous red pout. I think I'll leave the green complexion to Maleficent though...

Flores

So I've been doing a lot of chucking out around my place lately & selling lots of stuff on ebay. On Friday night a lovely lady came to my place to pick up a basket I was selling. When she arrived, she not only paid me for the basket but also gave me these pretty flowers!! It really made my night. Sometimes people can be so unexpectedly nice that it reminds me not to dwell on how miserable others can be. Now my apartment smells all pretty & I'm a happy little camper!

A Tea Party in Wonderland

I have found more inspiration for my Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea Party that will be the theme of my special birthday early next year.

Images from Wedding Chicks

It's just the perfect, whimsical, charming, vintage look that I'm after. I love such splendid inspiration, don't you?

Tapas for Two

I'm not the best of cooks. In fact, I'll go as far as to say I'm pretty bad. I'm not so bad at baking, but I've just never been any good at preparing dinner. I do have a few things that I've mastered, but not many :-)

Saturday night, my hubby & I decided to have a quiet night at home and cook some tapas. It turned out quite well if I do say so myself! The menu for the evening was very simple; Patatas Al Allioli, Champiñones Al Ajillo, and Chorizo A La Plancha.

I also had the chance to catch another wonderful Sydney Theatre Company production on the weekend; Thornton Wilder's Our Town. It was magnificent. The acting was brilliant by all, but my favourite thing about it was the limited set. It just worked so well. This play left me thinking about life and how we take it for granted, never taking the time to soak up those little special moments... It was a truly beautiful play.

Eugenio Recuenco

After the striking image of the Princess & the Pea in my last post, I haven't been able to stop looking at the portfolio of Spanish photographer, Eeugenio Recuenco. His work is awe-inspiring. I have a love for the 20's and black & white silent films so I couldn't help but show you these images of his that really captured me...

Happy weekend everyone & thank you for all your lovely & sometimes very helpful comments!
