Got the blues

Well, I've got the post-holiday blues & the rainy, dark, cloudy day blues, but other than that I'm pretty peachy. I never stay blue for long. I'm a super positive person & always find a way to make things seem brighter. But I do find that every time I get back from a holiday I get restless & feel a little blue about life going back to that daily grind...
Here are a few pretty blue pics to perhaps take away my blues.

Vegas Neon Boneyard Sesh. on Rock 'n Roll Bride

Ok, so it seems that after being home from Vegas for a week and a half, I'm still not over it. Vegas is still in my system and I'm dreaming of going back.

So.... I was very excited to come across Jessica & John's "Vegas Neon Boneyard" photo session on Rock 'n Roll Bride. This has got to be one of the best day-after-the-wedding photo shoots I've ever seen. This amazing photography comes from Love Me Do Photography.

Amelie

This would have to be one of my favourite movies EVER! I could watch it over & over again. I love every little thing about this film, Amelie's quirky personality, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's way of capturing the little idiosyncrasies of each & every character, Audrey Tautou's mesmerising performance... I even love the soundtrack by Yann Tiersen.

Today I came across this Amelie inspired wedding photo shoot at Nonpareil Magazine. Don't you think these whimsical images capture the essence of Amelie perfectly? I do!

"Without you, today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's."

"A woman without love wilts like a flower without sun."

"Amélie is a shy young woman with a pronounced taste for all life's small pleasures : immersing one's hand in a sack of grain, cracking the crust of a crème brulée with the back of a teaspoon or skipping stones on the Canal St-Martin."

What are your favourite small pleasures in life?

A Country European Holiday...

...just outside of... Sydney?

Today I'm introducing you to Woodbyne a "small European style country Hotel offering fine accommdation in the heart of the green rolling hills of South Coast, New South Wales."

I haven't been here but I came across this beautiful place through Country Style magazine & fell in love with these images...

Aren't the gardens magical?

Inside looks perfect too...

Patricia Stewart Design

The weekend is almost over unfortunately, but I made the most of mine & packed in as much as possible. Friday night I saw Long Day's Journey Into Night at Sydney Theatre Company starring Robyn Nevin & William Hurt. I had an amazing seat & could see the tears on Robyn Nevin's cheeks! She was phenomenal, I couldn't take my eyes off her. A truly brilliant actress.

Saturday I had brunch & shopping with friends and then went to Linda's birthday party which had an 80's theme, plenty of crazy outfits there!

Today I slowed down & had a lazy lunch with friends, a favourite thing for me on a Sunday. Now it's evening & there's a storm outside, so I'm sitting by the heater & drooling over some cosy pictures, perfect for this weather. Here are some images from Patricia Stewart Design.

I wish I could jump inside these images like Mary Poppins does with those paintings....

A Birthday Setting

On the weekend it was my sister's birthday. We had a simple bbq dinner with the family. Great food, wine & desserts made this intimate birthday occasion special and festive.

I thought I would share some pictures of the table setting my Mum put together (with my help). Simple yet pretty!  She picked the roses from her garden.

Nearly Friday - yay!
